Privacy Policy — Recall: Notification History

Recall: Notification History ("Recall", "the app") is developed and published by Bloomix Labs ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what the app accesses, what it stores, and what it does not do.

The short version: your notification history never leaves your device. We cannot see it, we never receive it, and it is never used for advertising. The app does show ads and offer a paid upgrade; those are described in Section 5 and are kept entirely separate from your notification data.

1. Notification Access

Recall's only function is keeping a history of the notifications your device receives. To do that it uses Android's notification listener permission (BIND_NOTIFICATION_LISTENER_SERVICE), which you grant explicitly in Android's settings and can revoke there at any time.

What is recorded

When a notification arrives, Recall saves the information that notification carries, which typically includes:

Notifications can contain private information — message previews, one-time passcodes, delivery and banking alerts, health reminders. Recall records what the notification contains, which means your history may hold sensitive material. Everything in this policy is built around that fact.

What happens to it

• It is written to Recall's private app storage on your device, which other apps cannot read.
• It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We operate no servers that receive notification data, and the app sends none.
• It is never used for advertising, profiling, analytics, or measurement, and is never made available to the advertising component described in Section 5.
• It is not included in Android's cloud backup. The app sets android:allowBackup="false", so your history is not copied to Google Drive or transferred to a new device.
• We have no ability to access it, at any time, for any reason.

Your controls

• Exclude apps. You can designate apps whose notifications are never recorded. Nothing from an excluded app is written to storage.
• Retention window. You choose how long history is kept. Entries older than your chosen window are deleted automatically.
• Clear all history. One action deletes everything Recall has stored, immediately.
• Biometric lock. You can require your fingerprint or device credential to open the app, so your history isn't readable by anyone who picks up your phone.
• Revoke access. Turning off notification access in Settings → Apps → Special app access → Notification access stops all recording at once.

2. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information. Recall has no accounts, no sign-in, and no user profiles. We do not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, contacts, location, files, photos, or your notification content.

Third-party components in the app do process limited technical data — see Section 5.

3. Data Stored on Your Device

Everything Recall stores lives on your device, in its private application storage:

• Your notification history, as described in Section 1
• Your settings: excluded apps, retention window, lock preference

None of this is uploaded, synced, or backed up off the device.

To delete it: clear all history inside the app, or use Settings → Apps → Recall → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app. Uninstalling removes everything permanently.

5. Advertising and Purchases

Recall is free and supported by advertising, with an optional paid upgrade.

Advertising. The app displays ads served by Google AdMob. To serve them, the advertising service may process technical data such as your device's advertising ID, device type, and coarse region. This is standard mobile ad delivery, handled by Google under Google's Privacy Policy and the Google advertising policies. Google's data handling in this role is outside our control, and we receive none of it in identifiable form.

Your notification content is never involved. It is not passed to the advertising service, not used to select or target ads, not used to build a profile of you, and not used for measurement. Ad requests carry no information derived from your notifications. This separation is absolute.

You can reset or delete your advertising ID in Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device, which limits how it can be used for personalisation.

Purchases. The paid upgrade is processed by Google Play Billing. Your payment details go to Google, never to us — we do not see or store card numbers, billing addresses, or any financial information. We receive only the fact that an entitlement is active on your Play account.

6. Data Sharing and Sale

We do not sell, rent, or trade any user data. We do not share your notification history with anyone — not advertisers, not analytics providers, not any third party — because it never reaches us to share.

The only third parties involved in the app at all are Google AdMob and Google Play Billing, in the limited roles described in Section 5.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. There is no account to close and no server-side record to erase.

Data on your device is retained according to the retention window you set, and can be deleted at any moment using the controls in Section 1 or by clearing the app's data. Deletion is immediate and permanent; there is no copy elsewhere.

8. Children's Privacy

Recall is a general-audience utility and is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). Because the app displays advertising and can record notification content, we do not intend it for children's use, and it is not enrolled in Google Play's Families programme. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children; as noted throughout, we do not collect personal information from anyone.

9. Security

Your notification history is held in Android's private per-app storage, isolated from other applications by the operating system, and protected by your device's own encryption and screen lock. The optional biometric lock adds a second barrier inside the app.

Because your history is never transmitted or stored on a server, there is no remote database, account system, or transfer channel that could be breached.

Please note that a device which is rooted, running modified system software, or shared with someone who knows your unlock method weakens these protections, as it would for any app.

10. Your Rights

Privacy laws including the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK), the CCPA/CPRA (California), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act give you rights over your personal data — access, correction, deletion, portability, objection to processing, and opting out of the sale or sharing of personal information.

We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing on our side to access, correct, port, or delete, and we do not sell or share personal information. Your notification history is entirely under your own control on your device, as described in Sections 1 and 3.

For the technical data processed by Google in serving ads and handling purchases, those rights are exercised through Google, using the links in Section 5 and your device's advertising settings.

11. Changes to This Policy

If a future version of Recall changes how information is handled, we will update this policy before that version is released, revise the "Last updated" date above, and describe the change here. Continued use of the app after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
