Privacy Policy — Weather by Bloomix Labs
Effective date: 15 September 2026 Last updated: 15 September 2026
Weather ("the app") is developed and published by Bloomix Labs ("we", "us", "our"). This policy explains what the app does with information.
The short version: we have no servers and receive nothing about you. To show a forecast, the app sends a location to our weather data provider, Open-Meteo, and nothing else. There are no accounts, no advertising, no analytics, and no trackers.
1. Information We Collect
We collect nothing. Bloomix Labs operates no servers for this app, has no accounts, and receives no data from it. We cannot identify you, and we hold no record that you use the app.
The app does send a location to a third-party weather service in order to fetch a forecast. That is described in full below.
2. Location
Why the app needs it
A weather forecast is specific to a place. The app can get that place in two ways: from your device's location, if you allow it, or from a city you type into the search box.
If you prefer not to share your device location, deny the permission and use search instead. The app works normally that way.
What is sent, and to whom
When the app fetches a forecast, it sends geographic coordinates to Open-Meteo (open-meteo.com), the weather service that provides our data. This is unavoidable: a forecast for your location cannot be retrieved without telling the service which location.
What is sent:
- Coordinates, for the place being forecast
- Nothing else. No name, no email, no device identifier, no advertising ID, no account. The requests carry no information that identifies you or your device.
As with any internet request, your IP address is visible to the service receiving it. Open-Meteo's handling of requests is governed by their own terms and privacy information, published at open-meteo.com. They are an independent provider, not acting on our behalf as a processor, and we receive nothing back from them about you.
Precision
The app can use precise or approximate device location, depending on what you grant. Approximate is sufficient for an accurate forecast in almost all cases, so if you would rather grant the coarser one, do.
Your controls
- Grant, refuse or revoke location at any time in Settings → Apps → Weather → Permissions.
- Choose "Only this time" when the prompt offers it; the grant expires when you leave the app.
- Refuse it entirely and search for places by name instead.
The app requests location only while it is open and in use. It does not request background location and cannot track your movement.
3. Data Stored on Your Device
| What | Why | Where it goes |
|---|---|---|
| Places you've searched or saved | So the app opens where you left it | Your device's private app storage |
| Units and settings (°C/°F, wind units, display preferences) | So the app looks the way you set it | Your device's private app storage |
We never see any of it.
One exception worth knowing about. This app uses Android's standard automatic backup, which means your settings and saved places may be copied into your own Google Drive backup and restored when you set up a new phone. That backup belongs to you, is covered by Google's Privacy Policy, and is not accessible to us. You can turn Android backup off for all apps in Settings → System → Backup.
To delete what's stored: Settings → Apps → Weather → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the app.
4. Permissions
| Permission | Why |
|---|---|
| Location (precise and/or approximate) | To fetch a forecast for where you are. Optional — search works without it. Foreground only. |
| Internet / network state | To request forecast data from Open-Meteo. |
The app requests nothing else. No storage, no contacts, no camera, no microphone, no identifiers.
5. Third-Party Services
Open-Meteo supplies the forecast, air quality, pollen and historical comparison data. The app sends coordinates to their API, as described in Section 2. Weather data is provided under a CC BY 4.0 licence, credited in the app.
That is the only third party the app contacts. There is:
- No advertising or ad network
- No analytics
- No crash reporting or performance monitoring
- No social media SDKs, login providers, or trackers of any kind
The app is distributed through Google Play, and Google may collect information relating to downloads and installs independently of the app, under Google's Privacy Policy.
6. Sharing and Sale
We do not sell, rent, trade, or share any user data. We hold none.
The only transmission the app makes is the forecast request described in Section 2.
7. Retention and Deletion
We retain nothing, because we receive nothing. There is no account to close and no server-side record to erase.
Data on your device is kept until you remove it, as described in Section 3.
8. Children's Privacy
This app is suitable for all ages. It contains no advertising, no purchases, and no social features; it collects no personal information; and it transmits no device identifiers, advertising IDs, or any other identifier of the kind restricted for children's apps.
The only data the app transmits is a geographic location used to retrieve a forecast, and that is optional: the app is fully usable through search, without granting the location permission at all.
We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR's provisions on children's data, and Google Play's Families Policy. If you are a parent or guardian and have a question about this app, write to us at the address below.
9. Security
The app holds no account and stores nothing sensitive. What it keeps on your device sits in Android's private per-app storage, protected by the operating system and by your device's own encryption and lock screen. Requests to the weather service are made over an encrypted connection.
10. Your Rights
Privacy laws including the GDPR (EU/EEA/UK), the CCPA/CPRA (California), and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act give you rights over your personal data — access, correction, deletion, portability, and objection to processing.
We hold no personal data about you, so there is nothing on our side to act on. You control the location the app may use, through Android's permission settings, and the data on your device, through Section 3. For anything held by Open-Meteo as a result of a forecast request, see their published information at open-meteo.com.
11. Changes to This Policy
If a future version of the app changes how information is handled, we will update this policy before that version is released, revise the "Last updated" date above, and describe the change here. Continued use of the app after an update indicates acceptance of the revised policy.
